Register/update research infrastructures in the 2024 inventory

    In the 2024 inventory of research infrastructures, all infrastructures need to clearly state how they meet the criteria for research infrastructures at Umeå University that have recently been revised. This is done in the Research Infrastructure Portal. Infrastructures that don't register/update the information they've previously added by March 31st will be deleted from the external research infrastructure webpage.

    What's going on?

    Research infrastructures that meet the criteria for research infrastructure at Umeå university as specified in the rules for research infrastructure should be registered or updated in the Research Infrastructure portal, which is open annually between 1 January and 31 March. RIS decides in April each year which of the registered infrastructures meet the criteria. The decision is announced in May. These research infrastructures at Umeå University are presented on the external infrastructure web pages 
    As the rules for research infrastructure have been recently revised, all infrastructures at Umeå university need to ensure that up-to-date information on themselves that explains how they meet the criteria is registered in the Research infrastructure Portal. This is done by either updating the information you registered previously, or registering the infrastructure if it's new or you haven't done so before.
    Research infrastructures that are not registered with up-to-date information by March 31st will be deleted from the external webpage.

    What do I need to do?

    You have to make sure that correct and up-to-date information for all research infrastructures that you're responsible for is registered in the portal by March 31st the latest.
    If you're responsible for a research infrastructure, you should therefore as soon as possible:

    • Read the revised rules for research infrastructure at Umeå University
    • Log onto the Research Infrastructure Portal and either
      • Update the information on your research infrastructure so that all requested information is available or
      • Register research infrastructure that is new or hasn't been registered before
    • Please note that you also have to re-register the infrastructure if it previously had been registered by another person.
    • Please also note that one of the criteria is that the infrastructure has a long-term plan for usage, development, evaluation and decommissioning. If any of these plans is missing, you should plan in time to create these.
    • The infrastructure should also be available to all researchers at Umeå University on the same terms, so you may need to revise or document accessibility criteria and information.
