Nominate younger childhood diabetes researchers

The Childhood Diabetes Foundation's Johnny Ludvigsson Award to younger childhood diabetes researchers in Sweden. Nominate no later than 15 May.

The prize winner must be a Swedish citizen and must have conducted diabetes research
• clinically on children and adolescents or/and
• epidemiologically about diabetes in children and adolescents or/and
• experimental type 1 diabetes.

Use of biological material from children and adolescents and clinical connection to childhood and adolescent diabetes must weigh heavily in the assessment. The prize winner, who must not have turned 45 on October 16 of the year in question, may be nominated by another diabetes researcher or the diabetes researcher may submit their own nomination, which must be justified by describing the scientific effort in English (max. 1000 words) and attaching a list over the most important (max. 10) scientific publications.
The nomination must be received by the Prize Committee no later than 15 May. The prize winner is selected no later than 15 June, by a prize committee consisting of the Children's Diabetes Foundation's Scientific Council reinforced with the prize winners of the previous three years. The prize consists of a sum of money of 50,000 SEK and a diploma. The award is announced annually on 16 October, Johnny Ludvigsson's birthday, and will be awarded in the coming months at an award ceremony, possibly in connection with a major medical conference. The award is presented by the Children's Diabetes Foundation's patron HRH Crown Princess Victoria, Johnny Ludvigsson, or the Children's Diabetes Foundation's chairman. The awardee must give a 20-minute lecture about their research. The prize winner undertakes to participate in the Prize Committee's work for the next three years without extra compensation.
