Support for individual study plans in Ladok – project starts this autumn

13 October 2023

Ladok will provide support for individual study plans at the doctoral level (ISP) starting from 2024. Now, a university-wide project is commencing to tailor the processes in Ladok based on how the University works with ISPs. In the autumn, two pilot rounds will begin within the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Science and Technology.

All doctoral students should have an established individual study plan. Currently, there is no university-wide solution for managing these plans; instead, it is up to each department to determine their own solution.

Starting in January 2024, there will be support for managing individual study plans in Ladok. Therefore, the University is initiating a project to adapt the processes and implement the system support for ISPs in Ladok. The goal is for doctoral students admitted in 2024 to be able to handle their individual study plans with the new functionality in Ladok.

In the autumn, two smaller pilot rounds will begin within the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Science and Technology to assess how the process functions. Ahead of the pilot rounds, the project has developed a baseline process for revising, approving, and finalising an individual study plan. The pilot departments will have the opportunity to test the baseline process and make adjustments based on the needs of their departments. Concurrently, the project will review existing regulations.

After the turn of the year, departments within the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and the Faculty of Social Sciences will have the opportunity to use ISP in Ladok. These departments will also have the chance to provide input on the baseline process based on the working methods of their respective faculties.
