Fitness reimbursement

Umeå University offers a fitness reimbursement to all employees.

A fitness reimbursement provides you with more options as an employee to individually customize fitness activities. An objective with the fitness reimbursement is to increase the number of employees who are actively involved in some form of fitness or exercise activity.

The fitness reimbursement applies to fitness activity subscriptions such as gym cards purchased per term or 12 month periods or other activities that cover at least five occasions.

The amount of the fitness reimbursement

The fitness reimbursement is a maximum of SEK 1,800 per year. To claim reimbursement you must scan the original receipt or a bank statement in the case of an autogiro payment (direct debit) and submit it through the staff self-service system PASS.

The reimbursement is paid per calendar year and a maximum of SEK 1,800 can be granted for 2019.

The fitness reimbursement also applies to employees that are on parental leave or sick leave. Those on a fixed-term employment will receive a fitness reimbursement in proportion to the length of employment. If you have an employment rate of 30% or below, you will receive a fitness reimbursement in proportion to your working hours per month.

The fitness reimbursement does not apply to those that are scholarship holders or those on full-time leave of absence.
