International postdoc scholarship holders, guest researchers and other internatiuonal visitors are covered by an insurance for foreign visitor provided by Kammarkollegiet. The insurance gives a 24-hour coverage in Sweden.
The insurance provides coverage for the following:
The insurance is valid in Sweden and throughout the Schengen area if you have a Schengen visa. If you have a residence permit it is only valid in Sweden. Your accompanying family members they are also covered.
The insurance also covers accompanying family members and employees who does not qualify for a Swedish identity number (their stay is less than one year).

Everybody living in Sweden should arrange a private insurance such as a home insurance and an insurance for accidents. Eventhough the insurance for foreign visitors protects 24-hours a day we advice you to get complementary private insurance such as a home insurance, an accident insurance.
Contact an insurance company for more information. Ask your HR support at the department for help.
If you are injured at work or experience that an event is risky it is important that you notify your manager. There are also some other things to consider.
