Innovation Utilisation Award 2024

    Since 2021, Umeå University and Nordea has awarded an innovation utilisation award. Through this award, Umeå University wants to emphasise and celebrate successful implementation of research and new knowledge, which is a necessity to meet societal challenges with new and sustainable solutions.

    The Innovation Utilisation Award is awarded to a researcher or teacher at Umeå University who can show that their work has:

    • contributed to developing new and innovative solutions, sustainable services or products;
    • contributed to starting a new company, or to renewing an existing company or the public sector;
    • shown resilience and longevity in the utilisation of research findings; or
    • taken successful initiatives that have enabled utilisation through the entrepreneurship of students or doctoral students.

    The prize sum is currently SEK 100,000 and is awarded in conjunction with the Annual Celebration.

    Nominations are welcome until 25 March 2024

    Everyone is welcome to submit well-justified nominations for this award. Decisions are made by a committee consisting of Vice-Chancellor Hans Adolfsson, the deans of the faculties, the CEO of Umeå University Holding AB and two representatives of the Nordea Norrland Foundation.

    Submit the name of your nominee together with your detailed justification including the CV of the nominee to planering@umu.se no later than on 25 March 2024.
