What is the Umu card?

It is a multi-function card for employees and students. The card is valid for three years if you are an employee. Currently the card has the following functions:

  • Access card (not for NUS premises).
  • Likbrary card for the University Library.
  • Copying and printing card, with internal invoicing for employees and a cashless payment system for students.

How can I get the Umu card?

You receive an email about how to apply for the Umu card. The email will contain detailed information and a link to the account where you should, among other things, upload your photo.

How the Umu card functions

Library card

Your Umu card works as a library card for the Umeå University Library.

Entry to the University's premises

The card's validity period is three years. The authorisation is controlled by the department, office or equivalent where you are employed. If you require extended authorisation, please contact the Campus Services Office.

Printed validity dates are no longer needed. If the card does no longer work please contact Infocenter.

Printing, copying and scanning

You can use your Umu card to identify yourself at the printer when you want to print, copy or scan. You can print from University computers or from your computer and collect your printed pages from any printer within the University.

Your Umu card is linked to the department, unit or equivalent where you are employed. The cost of your printed pages and copies will be invoiced there.
